We are terrible on the offensive end behind the line. So whoever they sign a couple weeks from now, they better be able to huck the rock at a 40% clip from three, minimum. Playing defense is good and will endure a player to the coach, but get that triple in play!
In unfortunately clown like fashion, the next two guys have never hit 40% from three. The first is a swing 2/3 that would be a nice addition to the bench. The other guy has been lauded on 9-noon, and would seem to be a quality two way player with bench and starter potential.
So here we go!
Number 6 - Dion Waiters
Still only 24 years old, Waiters is certainly on the younger side as a free agents but has put in four years of play between Cleveland. While none of his statistics are above average (under 10 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2 assists), his experience on top end teams could be a good addition to the bench. I'm not sure I would want to pair him with Shabazz but as replacement for Bazz over the next few years, I would welcome him into the crew.Number 5 - Kent Bazemore
Bazemore has bounced around the NBA a little bit but has been a part of some high end organizations during his short tenure. Coming up as an undrafted player to being a starter on a playoff team that made it to the second round this year is a testament to his work ethic and ability. He scored in double figures but also grabbed over 5 rebounds with more then 2 assists per game. He's only had four years of playing experience in the NBA but is 27 which is well within the target age bracket for my focus.
What do you think about Waiters, Bazemore or any of the guys I've hit on previously? I'll get to numbers 4 & 3 early next week, so check back!
